TREE IS LOVE
Trees are poems that the earth writes upon the sky. They fall down and we turn them into paper that we may record our emptiness. In TREE IS LOVE, Tree Thomas serenades us with love songs all produced by Trippy Sanders. Trippy remixes some of our favorite R&B classics and Tree does what he does best, rapping, singing and venting unmatched by any 6’8 songster in the game.
Here’s what HipHopDX.com had to say, who premiere the EP:
“HipHopDX Premiere: The work ethic of Oakland rapper Tree Thomas is truly staggering. For months, he’s been spitting out track after track and video after video. After dropping some “FACXX” earlier this month,” he’s back with a new EP — Tree Is Love.
Produced by frequent collaborator Trippy Sanders, the five-track effort puts his penchant for lyricism on display while at the same time exposing his vulnerabilities in love.
Beginning with a sample of Jimi Hendrix’s “The Wind Cries Mary,” Tree Is Love pays homage to the Bay Area with “Intro (Oakland),” which leads into “That’s Love.” The project wraps up with “Donnell Freestyle,” another mellow exploration of love and relationships.”
